Where to Unwind: 4 of the Area's Best After-Work Happy Hours

Group mingling on patio at cocktail bar

A day of meetings deserves an evening of drinks and hors d'oeuvres. So instead of heading back to your hotel to grab dinner downstairs, loosen your tie or let down your hair – because happy hours are on the horizon. These five options won’t make you feel out-of-place if you’re clad in khakis or sporting a pencil skirt.

The Lodge | Downtown Fort Myers

Barbecue, brews and cocktails come together with crazy cool ambience at The Lodge. Like something straight out of the Colorado Rockies, this unique specimen of a sports bar offers happy hour from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day. Here, you’ll find wells, house wines and Bloody Marys for $3, pitchers for $2 off and pints or steins for $1 off.

Twisted Vine Bistro | Downtown Fort Myers

While the happy hour drink specials are solid, Twisted Vine’s shareable portions really take top prize. You can treat your table to crowd-pleasers like crab cakes or a butcher board for $12 or $22, respectively. Plus, visit the bar for $3 domestic beers, or $4 well drinks and house wines, from 3–6 p.m. Monday–Friday. If you happen to see a show at the Florida Repertory Theatre, bring your ticket stub to Twisted Vine to receive a free glass of wine.

Ford’s Garage | Downtown Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Estero

With an extensive 10-page drink menu – and cocktails that bear auto industry–themed names – Ford’s Garage is nothing if not a good time. Happy hour is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day. All drafts are $1 off, plus wines, wells, margaritas and Bloody Marys are $3 apiece. Throughout the week, you’ll also find a variety of drink specials after 7 p.m.

Angelina’s Ristorante | Bonita Springs

The Lounge at Angelina’s entire antipasti dishes and full signature cocktail offerings are half price during happy hour. It’s a deal as delicious as it sounds, with margherita pizzettes for a mere $5, or fried calamari and grouper ringing in at only $8. From October 1–May 31, happy hour is 4–6 p.m. every day, but from June 1–September 30, it only takes place 5–7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. The “dress to impress” policy at Angelina’s Ristorante also ensures you won’t feel weird arriving in your work clothes.
