Starring Luke Wilson and Brie Larson, Hoot is a film about a young man who moves from Montana to Florida’s Gulf Coast, where he engages in a fight to project a local population of endangered burrowing owls. This family-friendly adventure was partially filmed in Boca Grande. It’s sure to be a hoot!


Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh

In the inspiring novel Gift from the Sea, author Anne Morrow Lindbergh, wife of the famous aviator Charles Lindbergh, takes readers on a journey to find comfort in her meditations on youth and age, love and marriage, peace, solitude, and contentment. Lindbergh drew inspiration from her visit to Captiva Island in the 1950s and the unique shells that she found along the shore.
